Programs, Windows & Virus Updates NO LONGER INSTALLING!

I've just became aware of an issue on my PC (Running Windows 7 Ultimate) where and Programs that have been Downloaded will NOT INSTALL, the Windows Updates (will Download) but also will NOT INSTALL and my AGV Anti-Virus will (download Updates) but also will NOT INSTALL !

I get Error Code 2203 (when trying to Install Programs.)

I get a"General Error" with the AVG Anti-Virus.

The Windows Update History shows my system needs Restarted for Updates to take effect (It's been Restarted numerous times since...).

I've also seen the Error Code....0x80091007

It appears something has gone amuck with the Windows Installer within my PCs Windows 7 program.

How do I go about fixing Windows Installer ???

    Hi Katmandu, Welcome to SF,

I guess it multiple issues going on because Error Code 2203 is basically referring to Permissions some Firewall is blocking etc.

    Edit:

    For AVG : http://www.avgforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=401

Try to Login under Build-in Administrator see whether you having the same problems there

    Hope this helps,
    Captain

    Hey Captain,

When logged in as the Administrator, ANY programs that are LINKED to another Profile has the above issue! ie... the AVG Anti-Virus program is Linked to ALL USERS (Profiles) and it will NOT install the Updates. It WILL download them just fine, but will not install them.

NOW, when I tried to download and install a Program selecting to have the Adminstrator the ONLY PROFILE to use the Program (NOT EVERYONE), the Program INSTALL PERFECTLY.

I did reset the Permissions already as another thread (on the Error Code 2203) suggested.

    2203 Error

So we know the Administrator Profile is Installing Programs/Updates as it should. So how do we get the Other (Main) Profile working properly ??

    TIA

Tried BOTH methods (BELOW with NO success.

    Method 1: -
Please run Windows Installer Cleanup Utility to remove the program completely from the computer and then try to install.
    1. This is helpful when you have problems removing or installing a program, as Windows Installer Cleanup Utility will remove all temporary files related to the program you are trying to install, as some installation files in temporary folder would be corrupted.
    2. After removing the program completely from Windows Installer Cleanup Utility, restart the computer and try to install and check if you are able to install.
    3. For more information please see here.
    Method 2: -
I’d suggest you to unregister and register Windows Installer and start the installation.
    · To unregister windows installer, open Command Prompt and type the following,
    MSIEXEC /unregister
    · After unregistering, register Windows Installer by typing the following command in command prompt,
    MSIEXEC /regserver
My Profile could NOT Install the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility Program (because of the Installer problem obviously).

Method 2: Did not work either for me.
