edit program files as Standard User?
Win 7 Helpers,
I would like to know how to configure Win 7 ownership/permissions so I can modify files in my C:\Program Files folder when logged in as Standard User. I can do this when logged in as administrator (after configuring ownership/permissions,see below) but when I try to edit>save when logged in as Standard User, I get 'Access is Denied' and no 'over-the-shoulder' prompt for admin password. FYI, I configured ownership/permissions for this program folder when logged in as Standard User by right clicking the root folder of the program: Security>Advanced>Owner>Edit>Admin_UserName>click on 'Owner of Underlying Containers and Object' box>OK. After Win 7 distributes the rights click OK.
Then I right clicked the root folder again: >Security>Edit>Add>Admin_Username>Check Name>OK>Full Permissions>OK.
How can I configuring the settings such that, I can edit and save files in this program folder when logged in as Standard User via Admin_password prompt?
I'm using Win 7 Pro on a Lenovo T500 laptop.
Thanks for any pointers.
