Windows 7: Cannot adjust screen brightness.

Hi, i've upgraded to windows 7 recently on my laptop and i think that it's really great compared to vista.

I have no problem with most of the things except for the ability to adjust brightness.
I could not change brightness the way i used to by using the FN + left/right key, nor the slider in power options menu.

The screen seems to be at the maximum brightness,which in turn causing my eye to hurt after some time of usage.

Any idea why? I need some help here.
Btw i am using Aspire 6935G.

it's likely you will need to install a utility for that control to work

Ok did some searching , goto the acer website\ support and pick > notebook > aspire > 6935G > then pick your Operating System and make sure you have all the drivers and applications they list

I believed that i had almost all of the drivers there on Windows 7 professional.
Maybe just the CIR ITE , which failed for dont know what reason when installing.
Was that the one? (no idea what that driver is about lol )

And yes, richc46. I've read about that already.
My problem here is not about FN key not working. I could still off my display with the FN key.

kansianz, are you running on battery power or mains, Windows 7 handles battery power more efectively now, will check why CIR ITE failed for you , back soon

here is the only driver i found Download ITE CIR driver 1.0.0.0 - ITE CIR driver you will have to run this in compatability mode for xp

Main supply most of the time.
It says :

Abort this installation.
Please reboot and try again.

I've rebooted, but to no avail.
