Back on my other computer. I finally got chkdsk to work. I had to hit F8 on startup, then from there go to the system recovery tools, run command prompt, the run chkdsk from there. Its nearly done so Ill see if it fixed it, hopefully it did.

FINALLY! Got the damned thing removed. That was sure an awful lot of hell just to delete one folder. My Firefox was messed up too, but after I installed it again it was fine. Hopefully thats the end of all my problems for now, thanks to everyone who helped!

I don't think it was FF, It was working just fine before I did the chkdsk, I think something probably just got messed with after I did the scan. All I had to was reinstall it and everything was back to normal.

I have windows seven home premium on a lenevo 3000 N100.

I was running Super Anti spyware free edition and it said that a folder in my documents which contained 2 MP3 files and 2 image files was corrupt. I know it was not like that to begin with as I downloaded it on Jan 7 and have listened to the songs a few times since then. I can't delete it because it is corrupt. It recommends I run chkdsk. I go to it by going to my computer, drive c, properties, tools, check disk. Then it says it can't run it when windows is in use and asks if I'd like to schedule a scan the next time I turn on my computer. I have restarted and shut down my computer atleast 5 times now and it will not start that scan, it'll just boot up like it normally would. Am I doing something wrong, or is there another or easier way to do this?
Hello, can you try with this small program called "UNLOCKER" and you'll remove it 100% out of your system, without a problem, just install and go to your folder or something else, rigth click, and click on "UNLOCKER ICON"and will open an small window, where informs you if the folder is locked or not,if so,just unlock and delete,if not locked,go down on the same small window, left side, click on the small arrow and choose delete, that's all.
i let hier the link for the unlocker program.Download Unlocker 1.8.8 - FileHippo.com,it's free.
I downloaded that file twice now and Microsoft Security Essentials detected a trojan both times.
Hi,i have hem on my two, ultimate and enterprise systems and has no trojan anyway,it's an false positive alarme, the website i gave to you is virus free,if you wanna do it,just ignore it and install it and then remove it again if you want it so,i did a few scans with, avg internet security, trojan remover, norton 360 and got nothing, believe me i'm hier to try to help you,and this is for sure the best way to remove the folder you want to,don't be afraid, because you got already the virus on your pc,when you says the folder is corrupt and can't remove it,got it?just do it.

Sounds nice, when the problem is solved, but just in case,if you want just to be sure,if your system files are all ok,open your command prompt and type "sfc /scannow"without quotes and let hem do the scan till the end and reboot, that's all.i do it one time a month always, just to control the system.
    cheers.:)

    Hey All,
Was struggling with this for a while, think I was searching for the wrong stuff in google. Anyway I had a problem that sounded the same as this but had a different solution.

Essentially I had a situatoin where i could move the files out of a folder, but the folder showed no properties 0 size etc, and if i tried to open files in it it said something like object not found...

I posted up on my blog the solution I had an extra space in the file name and had to remove it by dos.

Steps posted on the Post: windows 7 corrupt folder but can copy files

Hope this helps others I was struggling for ages with a simple issue. Now to find out where the space came from....

I made the mistake of installing Windows Live for mail. Since then, nothing but error msgs:

    folder:
c\program files \ common files \ ms shared \ windows live

    is corrupt and unreadable.

    I cannot delete that folder!
    I have tried:
    running scannow
    running chkdsk
    delete in safemode
    delete in elevated DOS
delete in elevated DOS in safemode

No matter which method I try, it says "folder is corrupt and unreadable"

Here's the real kicker: it will NOT let me use Restore Point for the same reason! It says there is a corrupt and unreadable folder!

    Any ideas?

Can't delete corrupted folder. (Am Green with envy)

Hello 7 family, I am having the same problem SectorStar had. I tried every trick mentioned in the post. The chkdsk utility, changing the permission settings (I even tried the "Take Permission" tool), deleting the folder path via command prompt in every mode including administrator, re-booting in safe mode & in command prompt mode & tried deleting the folder path that way, atleast a bajillion different removal tools (including ones not mentioned in this post promising to delete corrupted folders regardless of whatever) None of them work. They all either said the folder would be deleted on next system re-boot & didn't do that at all or it simply said path or folder not found. I am sure I tried every trick unless I have yet to discover it. So, I am asking SectorStar personally to provide me with step by step instructions as to how you removed your corrupted files.

Now to clarify, I have a corrupted folder & the folder is empty (0 bytes).
