Making a new "Documents" folder

I changed the location of my Documents, Pictures, Music etc. from my C\ drive to my D\ drive, no problems. Went to move my Documents back for a program to work properly and I dont have a locations tab, which means its not the real Documents folder. Checked the regedit\current user\...Shell Folders and the personal is just D:\ without a folder name, Im guessing it got deleted.

How do I make a new Documents folder, one that I can edit the location in properties?

Having run into similiar issues and finding Brink's most helpful restore process (thank you!) I then worked out the following:

To move user folders to a different drive first create temp folders in the new location (eg MyDocuments, MyMusic etc.). Then go to the user folders on your C drive and using the properties and location menus select the corresponding folder. Select yes to move files. The operation will correctly rename the temp folders you created to My Documents, My Music etc. with the correct icons and automatically update links to libraries and "me" folders. Apparently you cannot relocate user folders in root folders. I wish I had known this yesterday

You can delete the bad Documents folder (backup first though), and use OPTION TWO in the tutorial below to restore the registry entries for it to restore the folder as well.

[Problem Solved]
This is one of the first things I tried when I started searching the internet for a solution. It didn't seem to work, even after a number of restarts, but I started my computer today and the folder is back. Guess it needed a little time. Thanks for the help!

It is most important to first create a folder in the partition/disk to where you want to move a folder. Else you end up with the disk/partition as your folder name. I fell into this trap myself once and Brink bailed me out. Interestingly enough though, the system creates a folder automatically if you move it back to the default location. I guess it remembers that too.
