    Retaining Windows Size

Dell Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E7500 Computer
    Inspirion 545s 00
    Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
    6GB Memory
    750GB Hard Drive

Earlier this evening I had about 6 windows open all checked with "SHOW SIDE BY SIDE." Since then, I've been unable to get many of my windows to open back to the maximized view. I clicked on that option again thinking it would no longer show things side by side.

Now windows open in the top part of the monitor screen in the top 1/4 horizontally. Hope that makes sense. When I had XP, I was able to resize the screen manually, hold the control key down, and left click on the red X. When reopening, the screens would be maximized.

How can I get my screens back to opening full screen mode rather than in the top 1/4 and only seeing about 3 inches downward? I would prefer not to have to maximize each and every screen.

This was not an issue until I had the 6 windows side by side this evening. I've used the side by side option before but only for 2 windows to be horizontallly side by side, not 6. Did it confuse the pc (LOL)?

    Thanks for any help,

Have you tried expanding the screen using the outside edges to maximum size.
    also this can work
Double click on the top Blue Bar of the screen.

I hope this is what you ar etalking about.

You should be able to program the size a windows opens to by dragging it to that size, then clicking the Maximize box a few times. This doesn't always work in Win7 however, so on some installs I use Autosizer as I have given up on trying to fix it.

Thanks for your responses - I appreciate that!

I tried all of the above to no avail; however, as the evening wore on last night, it seems like they "finally" went back in place automatically. Weird!! Must be a win7 thing (LOL)! I just didn't like having to resize the screen each time I opened something different. Thanks again.
