    Microsoft Video Screensaver Problems (WGA)

    Hey guys,

Hoping you can help me again.

I'm trying to setup videos to play as screensavers, and have downloaded the Microsoft Video Screensaver (International Edition), but have run into a problem (I've had this issue before with validation, and requiring me to manually enter in my product key).

Anyway, I had to download the WGA before it would allow me to download, which I did and all was fine.

I then downloaded the videoscreensaver.msi and accepted, and every time it stops during what seems to be confirmation of validation. It pops up the following page:

    http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?link...itCheckError=6

With the error message from the installer:

    "Installation Interrupted

the installation was interrupted before Microsoft Video Screensaver could be installed. You need to restart the installer to try again."

I've had issues from the word go with activation, where I had to do it via phone, as it wouldn't allow me to activate over the net.

My version is 100% legit, and is an OEM upgrade disk that I received for my laptop, and it just doesn't want to work for me.

Any suggestions? I've disabled windows firewall, and virus scanners, enabled the DMZ for the static IP assigned to the pc that I'm trying to install it on, and it just doesn't want to work.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    cheers

    Hi, Welcome to SF,

I guess the Microsoft Video Screensaver (International Edition) is not compatible with either Vista as well as Windows 7. That's why your having this problem. Also screensaver is also buggy in Windows XP. You might wanna look for some other Screensavers that works well with Windows 7.

    Hope this helps,
    Captain
