How to fix Windows File System transaction log?

My Windows 7 Ultimate PC cannot save its backup settings due to its corrupted transaction log. Fix It is incompatible with Windows 7 and the fsutil command did not repair the log file. Here is the error message which is very indicative of the nature of this error:

Transaction support within the specified resource manager is not started or was shut down due to an error (0x80071A91).

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you

Hi dee2809.

A quick trawl of the net seems to indicate that many people are not achieving success using the fsutil command for the problem you are experiencing.

Have you tried System Repair? I would think that would be a good starting point.

Hope this helps.
