Installed ultimate 32 and some weird stuffs happening

when I first start my PC the first window I open won't register mouse clicks or let me do anything with it. I have to use the task manager to end the program then everything works fine until next time I shit down / restart my PC.

Also, some other things like when I hover over programs on my toolbar it doesn't give me a visual preview of something that is shrunk it only says it in text. In videos I've seen it shows a actual picture of it.

When I hover over the show desktop button open windows don't become transparent. I also saw this on videos.

and lastly my itunes cover flow doesn't work but it shows the album covers in all other places. It worked fine with XP..I'm clueless as to what's going on. Any help would be appreciated

this sounds like you dont have aero enabled.

I did what you said but the box and text for Aero Peek are in grey text and won't allow me to check/uncheck the box. There is a check in the box now though.

Do I need to get a better video card maybe? My video right now is just coming off the motherboard on a 2-3 year old PC. It has P4 2.4Ghz CPU in it if that matters.

OK I have very easy access to get cheap RAM. How much do you think I should upgrade to?
