    Folder won't Delete - ARGH

I have two folders on my desktop, I was able to successfully delete the contents within those two folders, but when I try to delete the actual folder I get this error:

    Could not find this item
This is no longer located in X:\Users\<account>\Rouge\Desktop. Verify the items' location and try again.
With the option to TRY AGAIN or CANCEL, Trying again does nothing it just brings the same message up over and over. I've searched in a few places to try to get it to delete, no progress.

The file information under the General tab shows that it opens with Windows Shell Common and it's obviously a 0 Byte file size.

Hi, Try this, open a folder on the desktop and call it whatever you want.
Go back to the folder that you want to delete and Cut it, then paste it into the
    folder on your Desktop.

From there try and delete it and see what happens.

You can usually delete these things via DOS.

Folder - Delete from Command Prompt

    1. Call up a command prompt.
    2. Use the cd command to navigate to the parent folder containing the rogue folder (so, for example, cd X:\Users\<account>\Rouge\Desktop).
    3. Use dir to produce a listing of what's there - it should include the rogue folder in the list.
    4. Use rmdir to delete the offending item (e.g. rmdir rogue).
    5. Use dir again to check that the rogue folder is no longer in the list.
    6. Exit the command prompt and check that the rogue folder has gone.
    7. :) (hopefully)

This is unbelievable I tried both of the recent suggestions and the folder won't delete. In Safe mode, windows just mentions that the folder is not found yet it is clearly on the desktop and it won't delete...ArGH !!!

Use unlocker/lockhunter and check whether the folder is being used by any processes. This issue happens, when you actually deleted the folder but it fails to disappear. F5 should fix it or a restart. But, strange ur's didnt.

Unlocker also has an ability to delete the file on restart, try it out.

Yes, file assassin comes with malwarebytes. Give it a try, if unlocker/lockhunter doesnt delete the folder u want.
