    Compatibility Issues

    Hi Guys:

    Starting to get desperate here!

Last fall bought a new HP with Vista but came with Windows 7 upgrade, sincerely wish I had left Vista on this computer.

So far this is the list of things that don't work. (hundreds of hours of troubleshooting have not resolved)

    1. Hp printer/scanner no drivers.

    2. Quickbooks 2009 incompatible. (forced to use XP based laptop, a real pain) Intuit has thrown up their hands and won't support 2009 on Windows 7 based machines.

    3. Will not read external hard drive

    4. Must load wireless router manually. ( current N router)

    5. Will not read digital camera, just grinds away endlessly.

    6. Will not load firefox half the time, requires full shut down and reload.

Honestly at the point where I will take this system to the warehouse and use it for email only. ( pretty sad )

I honestly do not know what is going on with Microsoft, this OS was clearly released without adequate testing and now we are stuck with it. As a small business owner we rely on being up and fully operating at all times, simply do not have time to fight with computers just to get the basics working.

Any suggestions out there or do you know anyone who has a good XP based machine for sale (maybe a Mac)

    Thanks

    Windows 10, Home Clean Install

    Welcome to the Forum,

From your description it sounds like you did an upgrade install. If this is the case the OS will never be right. With an upgrade DVD you can do a clean install, and you should.

Clean Install with a Upgrade Windows 7 Version

If you did an upgrade previously but do a clean install, now, you will be amazed by the difference in performance.

    Hi MrPEP2 and welcome.
I have read your two messages and it seems you have a bad install and many issues that need to be resolved. If you have a bad install for starers may be causing all the other simple problems like can see your external HD, can not see your digital camera, can not use printer because it doesn't have drivers.
Did you know that if you told us what kind of printer you have and camera and external HD we may be able to help you.
Are you aware that most Vista drivers will work with your printer in Win7.
Let us know what we can do to help and I'm sure we can work out all your issues.
