    Library - Program Association

Hi, how can I change program association on Libraries? I mean, in Music, when you right click your Album Art it gives you the option to play with Windows Media Player. I would like to change that to WinAmp. Can it be done? I saw you can change the icon, so I guessed...

    Thanks.

Normally you use right click and "open with" option on the files you want to associate.:)

Sure, this happens within regular folders. But with Music Library when view is set to "Arrange by Album, Artist or Genre" (thumbnail like view, where you see the album art displayed for the related folders) there is no "Open with". Right click menu in Music Library is shorter with less options (6 in my system) and is stuck to WMP. Sorry if I was too unspecific in my first post.

You still need to do as I said. Find the individual files, select them all and associate them with the program you want.
If that doesn't work, put them in a new folder and link that to the library.
I don't know any other way of doing it. :)

Thanks, but this does not work. Files have always been associated to WInAmp. When it is arranged by Song or Rating, then it opens WinAmp, but most of the usefulness of music Library for me is that it sorts music by Artists so I can have different folders of music (one on my HD another on my external HD, another folder with my PPC music...) but I have an organized way of sorting them and choosing whatever I want to listen. But this view is associated on a more hidden way to WMP. Thus my question.

I think I solved the problem. Instead of right clicking, I mark the album I want and then click on the toolbar, below the address bar (there is "Organize, Open, Play, Burn) the button "Play" then it plays in the file associated program.
