and now I'm suddenly burning through my battery

This makes me sad. I installed Win 7 when it was first offered, I absolutely loved it compared to Vista and XP. Now, though, a mere 4 months later I am having alot of problems. More so than I had with Vista. It now takes minutes to boot up, my peripherals randomly stop working (I have to remove and reinstall my MS Bluetooth mouse about every 30mins. No kidding), the computer just shuts down for no reason (which it has suddenly stopped doing) and putting it to sleep causes all kinds of frustration when I try to wake it up. Then, I noticed my battery was draining in about 45mins.

So I looked into it and it seems the battery issue is not totally uncommon. Then I read that MS is saying it is not the OS but our batteries. As I've written this my battery has gone from 50%-35%-28%

    Sigh...

Here is the point where I say I am moving to Mac- blah, blah, blah ( I am this time I swear it, no really, as soon as I can pull $2k out my arse)

Any suggestions? I am going to reinstall the OS which I did annually with Vista anyway but hoped to not have to do with 7. Anything?

Sorry to bitch but I am so tired of being frustrated with my PC's.

What type of laptop do you have? Is all the hardware Windows 7 compatible?

Hi, thanks for the response. I have an HP dv3000 series laptop. Not all of the hardware is compatible, the fingerprint reader is not, the mute button no longer turns red when muted.

Everything worked swimmingly for the first couple of months. Now, not so much.
