Win7 Taskbar Issues [Please Help :D]

    Hi fellow SevenForums users!
I have just come across this forum accidentally and it seems like a big and friendly community so i decided to sign up, so someone can help me out with my problem.

I Windows7 on dad's computer like 3months ago and its been fine since but like 2 weeks ago it started having issues with the taskbar. It is now become sort of annoying.
I have provided a screenshot of what the problem looks like:

    1. The "Windows Explorer" Icon is missing
    2. The order of icons is wierd

May someone kindly help me out :)
    Best regards,
    amcc

Hello amcc, welcome to the forums!

You should try right clicking the task bar and unlocking it. See where the categories can be moved to, it may be set differently.

I have attempted that and it doesn't seem to work; I have looked on other forums and think the cause may have to do with windows being corrupt in some way. Icon such as the "Windows Explorer" are missing and may hint to something being corrupt.

How can i reinstall Windows 7 without loosing programs and data?

IIf these fail, try running sfc /scannow to check for corrupt system files.

Then try a Repair Install as last resort before clean reinstall.

have you tried to restore default icon behavior? right click taskbar, notification area, customize. down at bottom it has option to reset it.
