Windows 7 Shutdown problem

Hi there,
We started to roll out some windows 7 with the new dell in the office.
As well installed some windows 7 licenses on our "old" dell laptops as well.
But now I suddenly noticed that some of the Dell laptops D620 is just an example that has 2-4 GB memory and Intel SSD 80GB disks with windows 7 has problems with the shutdown.
They dont give me any error and seems to go down to shutdown.
Only problem is the screen goes black as it should but the powe led is still green even after we waited some mins.
And yes its everythime as well.
First I was thinking that it went to herbinate or someting but its not possible to wake the computer up. Need to force shutdown by pressing the power button in for 5 sec.

Been trying to figure out what it can be since there is some computers that has no problem with it and some with this problem.

One today I think we solved by just change the power settings from balanced to high preformance so I checked another one that has the same problem but that one was already on high preformance.

I would say it seems like it has to do someting with the power saving or at least part of it?

Anyone out there with some ideas?

Lots of 7 shutdown issues out there, went through this problem.
Does this occur from safemode as well? Sounds like a service/driver issue.
When you get to the log on / switch user screen and use the shutdown icon there does it power down normaly?
You can also try making a shutdown icon "shutdown -s -t 00".

Frederik,

First and foremost, check for a BIOS update on those DELLs.

After updating the BIOS and if the problem still exists, then
at a command prompt run POWERCFG -H OFF

After a reboot, you will find that hibernate is off.

+1: BIOS updates from Dell are great and fix some of the weirdest things.

Booting up in Safe mode and doing a shutdown works just fine.
So I did a POWERCFG -H OFF and when I shutdown the computer (then in normal mode) it's still the same problem.

Can it be some kind of driver problem or someting? I tried to google this problem but sorry to say that I have not so far seen anyone with a similar problem.

Is the computer uptodate with all updates installed from Dell and Windows 7?
