I've not noticed but i'll keep an eye (well ear) on it. I would presume that as Windows 7 doesn't use as many resources in the background it only switches when it's required (mainly for CPU intensive activity).

The fan should stay on at all times, if not the CPU would burn out.

I've just had a check to see if I can duplicate what you're experiencing & i've noticed the fan start up not long after starting Media Center. This would indicate some sort of automatic switching when needed.

Just out of curiosity what power plan are you using?

im on balanced. ok so the fan on any laptop will allways stay on?? "Blonde moment" i jusy didn't noticed it.

You know what , your right. because the fan go's on full when im in media center or doing something that uses a lot of cpu power, otherwise it idles slowly.

thanx man
