Windows 7: Naming Files

Hello,

I don't know what to do, and am fast losing my patience, its done this since it was installed.

In XP I could name a file orangeman, then in the same folder I could name another reduced file (thumbnail) to orangeman1a. Not so in this Windows 7.



Sometimes it will allow the save as it came if its mail, but if its got re??? it will not save as that and I have to give it some other name.

Its supposed to be an admin thing but what and where?

Is it even Windows 7 OS thats doing this or IE or F.F Browsers?

Try taking ownership of the file, then rename it...

They both do the same thing; the context menu shortcut is just a faster way to do the same thing.

I lost so much patience I dived straight in with my question. Months and months to be honest. I am on Windows 7 Ultimate.

Oh blimey its not sorted yet, I need to read over before I touch anything. If I mess up my son will kill me for sure...

We put in a new mb and memory so things would flow nicely which logically it does. It closes fast etc, opens fast, its just the admin thing.
