Old Guy with Access permissions after Win7 Upgrade

I have ONE lil computer. No Guests, Administrators. Administrator, users or Everyone. I don't know about owners, special permissions, child stuff, inherited permissions, Who is System Anyway? I don't have 3 hard drives or 4 operating systems. I have ONE lil gimlet Puter that tells me I need to ask someone for permission to look at stuff and change it. I need to explain to my computer that I am the TOP DOG .. A/K/A The man in charge.

This YOU DON"T HAVE PERMISSION STUFF is making me ITCH. I want to run my computer and have it do what I want it to do. When I'm am denied permissions and I'm the ONLY one running this thing .... WHO, pray tell, do I look to for permission to access all files and folders on my 'puter??

Please explain to this computer that I can & will pitch it in the lake!!!

I'm an Albatross to anyone offering help.

Where is the "I'm The BOSS" button???

Stop laughing... this is a real problem to me.

Sorry that you are not happy with the settings that you currently have, maybe this will help

User Account Control - UAC - Change Notification Settings

If your computer is still not satisfactory, just post, again. We can try other steps.

    Good Luck

Thank you for the Instant Response. All the sites U offered mentioned Vista. This 'puter hasn't had Vista. I went from XP to Win7 Home Premium. Regardless, I explored UAC. Slider is one up from the bottom.

Documents & Settings Folder shows All Users (No Permission to access), default, default user (no Permission to access) Harry and public. Four of five of those are of no use to me.

Can't I be the only one there? Grrrrrr

Thanks again for your lightening fast response.

The security fanatics will scream but go ahead and put that slider down at the bottom to make your life simpler. Here I'm assuming you don't visit nefarious sites, porn sites and the likes thereof, don't respond to those junk spam messages.

I mentioned "old guy". I think I have seen enough of "that stuff".
I'll throw caution to the wind and bottom out my slider.
One guy on his One Computer isn't supposed to need Default User, User, Harry and public.

I wonder, if after lowering my slider .... If I can delete some of these non-existant users?

Thanks for your help.... I may never be seen again. How-some-ever I am happy to throw caution to the wind to be able to access the files on my OWN COMPUTER.

I follow the procedure. It stopped the Adm approval messages.

Windows Explorer still shows the Crowd of peeps that don't apply to me. The same lil blue arrow on the above listed users still are the same.

I'm a hopeless case, methinks. I warned U that I was an Albatross
