Windows 7: Wordpad Extra Spacing Between Lines

24 Apr 2014   #11

Windows 7, of course

Yes, but you must make this change every time you use Wordpad. (Yawn!)

There's a free little app called Wordpadfix that stays in memory and automatically makes the change for you whenever you run WP. Unfortunately, it's stopped working in Windows 8. (Is MS really trying to force the spacing thing on us? Why?)

I suggest you just use one of the many good, free Wordpad replacements out there. I like one called QJot. Once you've installed it, right-click an .rtf file, click "Open with...", choose QJot as your default editor for .rtf files, and you're all set.

I hear that it's possible, but I'm a complete novice at anything to do with DOS prompts or the registry. I've attempted the instructions given outside this forum but been unable to 'take ownership' of the files in order to replace them (and I'm not even sure just replacing those Wordpad system...
