Access to 'Documents & Settings' Denied

My 'User Account Type' is 'Administrator', yet access is denied when I try and enter Documents & Settings.
This has just started to happen. I must have ticked a box somewhere!
Any ideas how I can regain access?

Remove the hidden and read only attributes of the files you are trying to access. Someone on this forum had the same problem a couple of days ago.

Documents and setting is a locked system folder with nothing in it. It is simply a pointer for legacy apps to work.

Hello,

There are a few things you can try. First, right-click on the folder and select Properties. In the Security tab, make sure you have permissions.

You can also try taking ownership of the folder: Take Ownership of file - Vista Forums

If all else fails, you can try a System Restore to get to a point before the troubles began: System Restore

Hello Harris,

In addition to Ken's post above, you can access this folder through where it links to in your C:\Users\(user-name)\My Documents folder instead.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Thanks.... problem sorted.
My logic was in XP mode!!
What I realise is that I actually needed to access 'ProgramData'.
Cheers for your efforts.
