Screen moves from program to desktop

I have Windows 7 on a Toshiba Laptop. When I am in a program, at various times the screen will switch from the program to the Desktop. As soon as I touch the mouse, the screen switches back to the program where I was previously. This is very annoying as i have to keep touching the mouse to get back into my program. I have the touchpad turned off.

    Thanks,
    Roger K

    Welcome

Guess what, that feature cost you money.

Bottom right, near clock, there is a little trasparent box.

Put mouse and you can see the desk top.

Right click on it to shut it off. Untick peek at desktop

I like it, I have the temp as a gadget on desktop. I can check it easily.

Here's a tutorial that describes what Rich mentioned, at the link below.

Thanks for your help. I have turned off the desktop option. Now I get to wait and see if it doesn't happen any more.

That was not the problem as it still doing it. I wondered if that was the problem because the mouse pointer is usually in the middle of the screen when this happens and is not being moved over the transparent box in the bottom corner. Any other suggestions?

Too bad that didn't fix it; you say you're using an external mouse?

Might be the browser. If you are using IE,

    Tools>internet options>advanced>reset.

This will remove all add-on, which can be reinstalled later. See it that helps

Check drivers in device manager. Get up dated drivers for graphics.
