    Hello Welcome to SF,

I guess its an issue with Permission. Try to Login under Build-in account and install the application there. Follow this link Built-in Administrator Account - Enable or Disable

    Hope this helps,

    Welcome!

Try right-clicking on the installer and selecting Run as Administrator. If you are not using an administrator account, you may want to try one.

Okay, I'll do that for you if you want. This is free software, right? I don't want to be breaking any copyright laws doing this.

I noticed that the program was attempting to mess with a file in \windows\system32

That's sacred and holy ground. Thou shall not overwrite such files.

Seriously, that's an unusual app that wants to alter a file in \system32. Well-behaved apps write and alter their own areas in program files, programdata but not those files in system32.
