Link To Path Within Control Panel

I was wondering if there is a way in Windows 7 to find the shortcut path to Control panel.

To explain what I am trying to do, I use the program RocketDock for the icons on my desktop. With my laptop, I have the text size at 100% when out and about with it, and I have it on 150% when I am at home and I hook it up to my 42" LCD. So I wanted to create a button/shortcut path to the "Make text and other items larger" link in the control panel.

Not sure if there is a way to get that path or not but if someone knows would you please give me a reply? Thanks

Welcome to the seven forums turbo!

Where do you want this shortcut?

The path to contol panel is: %SystemRoot%\system32\control.exe

You can also add it to the right side of the Start Menu easily... right click the taskbar and choose properties, then choose the Start Menu tab... and click Customize... then put a check next to Display as Link inder Control Panel.

Hope this helps you!

I do not have the real answer you are seeking. I can get you close by saying make a shortcut to DESK.CPL

If my memory serves me correctly

Open the Start Menu
Right-click on 'Control Panel' and click 'Show on Desktop'
Right-click on the 'Control Panel' icon and click 'Create Shortcut'
Right-click on the 'Control Panel - Shortcut' icon and click 'Properties'
Under the 'Shortcut' tab, set the 'Shortcut key' field and press the desired key combination e.g. Ctrl+Alt+C (if you want a shortcut key)

soz I'm not at my Win 7 rig at the moment so I can't test it

I understand how to find the shortcut to Control Panel and pin it to my start menu. But that is no what I am trying to accomplish.

I am not sure if any of you are familiar with the program RocketDock or not. It is basically a stationary dock on your desktop that you can put icons/shortcuts in. But I am trying to make a shortcut through that program to the path in Control Panel known as "Make text and other items larger or smaller". Hope this helped clarify a little more. If you still don't understand please say and I will try to find another way to phrase the question.

The path to contol panel is: %SystemRoot%\system32\control.exe

Where %SystemRoot% is usually C:\Windows

Ah, ok. I do not think you are wanting the path to the Control Panel, but to the Display window in the shortcut below instead to change the DPI settings.
