    Hi stick8
Some folder can not be deleted but try this first.

When selecting Win7 Explorer from the taskbar you will highlight Explorer then right mouse click on it and select from the menu RUN as Administrator.
    Try that

    Hello Slick8,

Depending on what folder you are wanting to delete, you may need to take ownership of it and "Allow" your user account "Full Control" first.

If this is a protected operating system folder, then you should not delete these.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

If it is a system folder owned by the trusted installer, you may try this (although I do not recommend to delete system files). In elevated cmd and in safe mode run these 2 commands:

    takeown /f C:\Windows\System32\en-US\winload.exe.mui
    Icacls C:\Windows\System32\en-US\winload.exe.mui /G WHS:F

You have to replace WHS which is my username by your username. Now try to delete the folder.

What folder do you want to delete. Is it one that was installed with Windows 7 or one you created yourself. If the former don't delete it!

    WHS,
Gruess Gott. Thought you might find following of interest:

    C:\windows\system32 100%>cacls.exe /?

NOTE: Cacls is now deprecated, please use Icacls.
