Make ISO file from Windows 7 Install DVD

I have purchased three copies of Windows 7 Home Premium and I'm not ready to purchase the fourth from the Microsoft Store so I can download an ISO image. I want to create an ISO image from one of the DVD's I have already purchased so I can make a USB bootable version using the "Windows 7 USB Download Tool". I'm sure it can be done but have not had much success at finding the "how to" guide. Help would be appreciated.

OK just reliazed the date on this so maybe my posting is useless at this point, but I just wanted people to know that the link provided does NOT show how to make an ISO, but rather a bootable USB--not the same thing

Hi did you read Option #3 ?
A cd install disk is already an iso all one needs to do is copy and paste the contents to the usb flash drive after cleaning the flash drive and reformatting it ;)

Hi, thanks for this info. I assumed that an ISO meant that all one sees is one file and that it has '.iso' as its extension BUT the DVD and the now-newly-created USB bootable from it have many folders and files within it so I assumed this is not an ISO--therefore the USB has an image (or copy or whatever one names such a thing) of the DVD.

Hi,
I believe you need 7zip or similar to even see the contents of an iso,
So if you just pasted into a normal folder uninstalled 7zip... you'd see a normal iso icon instead if the normal folder was opened ?
I've not tested this possibly someone will confirm if you'd need a program like PowerISO or similar to recreate the iso file from the extracted contents or not
