what i mean is if you can still manually save files from office, or has M$ disabled it on disabling windows?

No, it's not disabled! What this all means is that when this bi-hourly shutdown occurs, it's completely automated and you have no time nor possibility to save your work. If you can anticipate the shutdown, you can manually save your work.

If it's really done like MS has told, every time after this shutdown and reboot, you should see an Kernel Power error (ID 41) as the last entry in Event Viewer (I think, based on information available in MS websites). This Kernel 41 event means that Windows was closed / rebooted without shutting it cleanly down.

Upgrade the Windows 7 RC to any retail version Icrontic Tech

Buy a retail copy of Win7, do an in-place Upgrade for which all reports are good.

Later, when you have the time and are prepared: Clean install for the best performance of all.

Or if you have Vista, do your in-place Upgrade from Vista and transfer data over.

We can help you remove the Dual Boot when ready - post in Installation forum.

Put your fingers in your ears and open your mouth.

You'll avoid damage to your ears and teeth from the concussive blast when it goes BOOM.

Run WinDirStat. Then you know what's on your HDD and how much. The rest is shadowstorage (restore points).
