Hey newbie here with whats probably a newbie question so apologies in advance if I'm posting a thread in the wrong place. If so, please point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.
I have a ZT Systems with the Windows 7 Home Premium OS
AMD Athlon II X2 240 Processor 2.8 GHz
4.00 GB
64-bit Operating System
My question actually deals with some files I have on a CD-R disc that I'm trying to recover. They are pictures and when I try to open the files, it says:
"Windows Photo Viewer can't open this picture because either Photo Viewer doesn't support this file format, or you don't have the latest updates to Photo Viewer."
The disc files has AFS3 as the file format. I'm guessing that some kind of security encryption I must've put on a while ago without realizing what I did. It was done on a Windows XP systems I had and I am now trying to open them on my Windows 7, but with no luck so far.
I also tried downloading Advanced File Security 3.1 Version 3.1.7 Basic to see if I could somehow extract the info from the disks. No luck there either.
Could somebody tell me if I'm wasting my time trying to recover my pictures or if there is a way to do it? I would appreciate any help I can get. These are my sons pictures and that's why I didn't just toss them.
Thank you very much.
