    Security Restriction

    Hi All

I cant access my outlook.pst file because of the following reason:

"shared items aren't accessible when your computer is asleep"

how can I remove this restriction?

    Thanks

    Welcome!

Is the file on a machine that is asleep? If so, either wake up the machine or save a copy on the running machine.

Try taking ownership of the file.

Hi - I tried this and still doesnt work. Please see the attached image.

when I open outlook it says the pst file cant be accessed. When I goto the file path specified that doesnt have access and try to share it then is says the file is in sleep mode!? Please see the two attached images

    Thanks

Thats just a warning letting you know you cant access shared items when the machine is asleep, nothing todo with that file

I think you messed up the permissions for the outlook.pst file, make sure Administrators and Users group have full control and that your User account also has Full Control.

Why are you even sharing your PST file?

    This is not recommended.

The file is on another PC?

It may be due to Windows turning the HDs off.
I allow mine to sleep, but NEVER turn off HD's and have never had a issue acessing files off the other PCs when its sleeping.

    Just a thought.
