    Use the snipping tool from your main menu..

    You can either press "print Screen" on the keyboard and paste it into Paint, Word or whatever. Or you can use Snipping Tool and save it to a file

    I think Window Clippings is the best way to take screenshots in Windows 7/Vista. It can preserve the transparency of borders. Wikipedia articles use it for screenshots. It used to be free, but now you have to pay to get the latest version. But an older version can still be downloaded for free.
