So is build 7077 RC and is it good?

I'm going to install 7, but I was kinda waiting for the RC. I don't know if build 7077 is RC or not, so if you guys know, that would be good... Also, is it good? I mean, does it have good performance and stability? And is it buggy?

Reading around the forums will get you the answers that your searching for. In short I don't know whether it will be the rc but very much doubt it. As for stability and performance it is spot on in both departments. Just look around the forums like I say and you will get all the answers and more.

I dont think 7077 will be the RC even though it has RC in the string. I think we can look at it as RCpre.

i would definitely install 7077, even though it is not RC

so far i have installed 7000, 7022, 7048, 7057, 7068, and now 7077 and this new build is hands down better than the others...i think the performance and stability has improved and everything is running smoothly...i haven't had any issues yet

Im running 7077 on my backup computer (2.2GHz Athlon 64 3500+ socket AM2, 1GB DDR2, 120GB SATA HD, onboard nVidia 6100S graphics). Up till this morning I was running 7068 on it (as I am with my primary computer), but its very evident that 7077 is much smoother and faster than 7068. Applications (namely, itunes) that took 10 seconds to open on it (and 15 on my primary) are now taking 6 to open up. I even made sure to test that theory with the same software installed and the same disk cleanup utils run directly before each test.

Still a lot of compatability issues with security software . Only time I have experianced problems with windows 7 is during the installation of security . Companies churning out such software I hope will get around to windows 7 quickly not like zone alarm with vista !

I agree. 7077 is great. It is the "Official RC Escrow."

Then 32-bits it is, won't even take me 2:30 hours thanks to Whoosh.

[64-bit wouldn't install from my 32-bit Win XP, Ah well, It's still better. :)]
