| | It depends on the screen and purpose. For the most part, they are one in the same. The description is inter-changeable. However, some claim to be 'privacy' filters as well. |

| Windows 7 Ultimate x86 build 7600 (XP, 98SE, 95, 3.11, DOS 7.10 on VM) + Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Lucid Lynx Chennai, India | There is a small difference between them. A Screen Protector will be fixed to the screen like a film (can be removed if required, though not frequently).  A Screen Filter will not be fixed on to the screen, but hang in front of the screen and can be removed whenever required.  |
