Need help with AppData folder

Both my laptop and PC are running out of space in the drive C. Turned out the AppData/Local folder was taking up too much space (more than half of the total of the drive). But then when I selected all the files and folders in the AppData/Local folder, right click/Properties, it said the size was only 250MB.

So what exactly is it that's taking up all the space? And how can I get rid of it?

Welcome

A lot of space is taken up by shadow copies.

Go to computer icon>click>right click on c drive>properties> disc clean up> system files.

You will get a lot of space returned.

Thanks for your posts. I tried Disk Cleanup (again, because I already did that when I found out about my drive C running out of space) but it didn't free up much (just a few hundreds of MB)

Sorry that our suggestions did not work as planned. Why not give this software a try.

App Data Space

I have the same problem, my appData folder is currently 15G, I found that 14 of that is in my premier pro Metadata Caches. So if your running something similar it may be some kind of caching data for a hefty program.

If you use itunes and make backups of your idevices such as ipod or ipad, that can take up a lot of space. If you have a 64gb ipad and it's filled with data 100%, then you will have a 64gb backup file in your appdata folder pertaining to that ipad backup. Same goes for ipod backups.
