    Users and programs and security

    Hi all

I just realized that when i installed windows, I only had an admin account. I created a normal user account, but all my programs are installed for the admin user.

How do I make an existing installed program available to my 'normal' user?

Also, how do people secure their machines? Meaning, do you run malware, firewalls, etc, and if so which?

    thanx in advance...

For the second part of the question

Download and use Microsoft Security Essentials for Antivirus

Download and use malware bytes to ensure that the other nasties will not cause problems

Yes you should use MSE for antivirus and Malwarenytes for extra protection, I use both of them together also, and both are great.

Go to the program>right click>properties>security tab. You can reset the permissions. See my earlier post.

You may be right. What I did was to post the instructions, saved the post then went for the links. Cannot do both at the same time.

Anyway glad that you found them.

I feel that the main security feature of my set-up is the hardware firewall in my router. The second best is prudent web surfing .
