I want to do the clean install, but

    1. when I tried DVD booting, nothing happens
    2. when I want to logon as usual, I can't. It stuck at boot screen (the animated Windows logo)

So, how come I can do the clean install if I can't do the DVD boot & logging into Windows(even with safe mode)?

Also have tried the Vaio Recovery Center, but no avail.

What is the possible cause of this problem? Anyone knows?

    iUnique,

SHUTDOWN YOUR COMPUTER! This is essential.

    Power On your computer.
Continually tap the F2 key to get to your bios setup screen.
Set the boot order to boot first from DVD/CD.
    Exit the bios setup.

Insert your Win 7 DVD into the optical drive.

You do not need to reinstall Vista to do a clean install of Win7.

Just boot the Win7 DVD, select Custom install, then use Drive Tools to delete all, create New partition(s) as desired, format and install Win7 to first partition.

The DVD will scan the Hard Drive to see an OS and allow use of the Upgrade version key.

The problem is likely that you have done an in-place Upgrade which is an inferior install prone to problems and failure.

Post back here if you have any further questions.

    Ajulian,
Quite often resetting the bios will put booting from the harddisk at the top of the boot priority. He needs to have booting from DVD at the top of the boot priority.

By checking his bios setting, then he can be certain that he set to boot first from DVD.

    Thanks you all

    Booting is okay

    But,
    It stuck after loading files

What can I see in the screen is only the white mouse cursor+black background,
and the hard drive as well as the optical drive is stop spinning (the indicator light doesn't on)
