REMOVING stubborn folders/files that wont go bye bye

I have a rather simple problem that does not want to resolve itself by conventional means. I have 4 folders with nothing in them (despite showing they do) and for the life of me cannot get rid of them (conventional deleting). This drive was once an external unit connected via USB 2.0, but for the last 6 months has been directly connected like any other drive.

Each time I try to rename them or issue any command, it comes back with 'File not found'. I have enabled Explorer to show ALL files and nothing shows up in those folders or any others on that drive. I just want to deep six those folders because they are very similar in name to other folders that are valid and I sometimes move things into the dead ones which doesn't work of course either.

Since nothing is 'there' so to speak, permissions and ownership cannot be changed as well.

Is there a 3rd party program that can remove crap like this? Other than being an extreme nuisance, they have no impact on usability or performance.

Try Unlocker. Works for me quite a bit.

    Download Unlocker 1.8.9 - FileHippo.com
