Windows 7 freeze issue

Hello I just made a clean install of windows 7 build 7077 and it worked perfectly for 1 or 2 day but recently whenever I open opera or chrome or ie the taskbar and pretty much every thing but the navigator freeze until I close the navigator or after 5-10 min.

I have not found any error report relevant, nor process going crazy in term of cpu, memory, disk or network utilization. I have tried deactivating firewall, antieverything, windows firewall and defender, xfire, msn, aero.

Weirdly µtorrent, newsbin pro, msn, vnc doesn't freeze everything. I suspect the issue as started after running ccleaner but I don't know how to undo what it did. I have found hundred of people having about the same problem on XP but none of there solution worked for me.

If you have any idea of how to find the source of the problem pls post

It wasn't CCleaner because i use it all the time,20 minutes ago matter of fact. You haven't by chance installed any win7 "hacks" have you?Someone i know used an OEM activator patch and had nothing but problems afterwards similar to what you are going through.

By hack do you mean pirated software or a OS hack for the activation key ??

There is normally and option with CCleaner in the registry portion that allows for you to undo the last registry repair. This however will only count for the very last repair run.

Note: Registry cleaners do exactly that, they clean the registry. As Windows 7 is brand new & still in BETA stages there may well be entries that CCleaner doesn't recognise & will report as an error. Best to use it for disk cleaning only at this stage IMO

Hello Caddish, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Since you had had Windows 7 installed a few days, you may not have a system restore point created yet to see if doing a System Restore may fix the problem for you. If this is the case, then a repair install may fix it for you instead.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

see if you have a virus.
You might have gotten a virus that just hogs up system resources.

Try booting in safe mode and see if it still freezes up.

Yes, it's been reported frequently how dangerous the registry cleaners/defragmenters are, but too much people still use them regularly and then come up with mysterious problems, even after many months from use...
To delete (supposed) unused keys from the registry doesn't actually speed up the system on Vista/7 that simply ignore and won't load in memory those portions.
Don't use them. Find the real solution on the net, and your PC OS will live happily forever without (big) troubles.
