Windows 7: Problems with magnifier

I have used the Windows Magnifier for years, in XP, Vista (not very often - on someone else's computer), and now on Windows 7. It works great, except for use with MS Word 2007.

Typically, when I type in a reasonable sized font (11-15pt) I can see the tops of the letters, down to the bottom of the letters, including punctuation. This is true for all the applications I've tried except for Word 2007. When I'm typing in Word, I can only see the top half of the letters on any font size 10pt and over.

I'm using the magnifier at 700%, docked, and I have the 3 "tracking" options checked on the magnifier options page.
