    Start Menu shortcuts lose icon?

    Hey,

I have a weird thing with Icons, that I just can't get to work.

    I'm gonna try to explain.
When I have installed 2 programs, Fraps and Avast Anti Virus, they automatically create an Icon on the desktop, but I don't want to keep those icons on the desktop, so I pin them to my start up menu and delete from desktop. But after I do that, they lose their Icon. So when I open the program it has no more icon, just like an Unknown file... What should I do..

Hello Aion, and welcome to Seven Forums.

You lost the icon in the Start Menu since you deleted that shortcut's source on the desktop. To keep the icon, you will need to either "move" the shortcut from the desktop to the Start Menu All Programs area, or pin the program's EXE file to the Start Menu instead.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

    Ok... Got it fixed, thanks
I actually used a program called IconViewer, that allowed me to save fraps icon, because it wasn't finding it before.. Don't know if it's the same for all.
