The laptop may have special keys, but the trick is to tap the F8 key after the initial boot screen and before Window starts.

    Try this:

    Safe Mode

You may need to do startup repair 3 to 4 times.

    Startup Repair

    System Repair Disc - Create
    System Recovery Options
    Repair Install

You can also try following these directions: Start your computer in safe mode.

Are you tapping F8 all the way through the post?
    Keep trying.

    hno2005,
normally F8 should work. Keep it pressed for a while.
If nothing else works, while in windows, hold down your power button till your computer shuts down. Then power on the computer, it'll show a black screen saying your computer did not shut down properly and give you several boot options. Choose safe mode there.
