    Last known good configuration

    Hello all,

I've been trying to figure out how to implement the 'last known good configuration' feature. However when I press F8 on start-up, there is no option for this.

All that is visible is a list of boot devices that can be selected, anyone know how to load up the last know good config??

    Thanks

Hello juvesteve, welcome to Seven Forums!

Have a look at the tutorial at the link below to see how to do it; be sure to post back with the outcome; if I may ask why you need to do this?

Thanks for the help ... that worked a treat!

I needed to do this as I wanted to restore to a previous config, but it wasn't letting me use any of my restore points for some reason. This seemed to kickstart the process into working somehow.

It was all started by the BitDefender debacle. If you haven't heard, the latest update for the AV software was a huge failure. It ended up quarantining all of the system files one-by-one, along with BitDefender itself, slowly eating away your computer... bad times!

There are a lot of unhappy people at the moment, and I would suggest that you don't use this AV software. I'm thinking of trying McAfee after this, do you have any recommendations?

    Hello again juvesteve.

I'm glad you found a solution that worked for you, thanks for the update; have a look at the tutorial at the link below, it'll show you how to create system restore points automatically to have when needed if something like this ever happens again.
