Windows 7 is asking for Product Key again

I purchased the Windows 7 Home Premium, designed for Vista, software.

A month ago I clean installed the OS & the Product Key was accepted.

Last night a box popped up on my screen asking for me to type in my Product Key. After doing so I am getting an error message that's advising my key is not found in Window's server.

Now, my Home screen is black with white text on the bottom right hand corner that reads, "Windows 7 Build 7600. This copy of Windows is not genuine."

I am confused. I purchased this software from Microsoft, yet I am receiving this type of error message.

I am imagining this must be another bug from Windows 7.

What can I do to fix this problem? my Windows 7 OS is not working properly.

I clean installed my Windows 7 a month ago & got all of the responses mentioned in the link you sent me, describing that My OS was Activated.

Now it's asking me to do so again and claiming my Product Key is not found.

I went thru the Windows Validation tool and after processing to validate my Windows 7 I get a screen that says Windows 7 has not been properly activated (yes it has). Yet, it wont accept the Product Key again that came with the box.

There's something fishy going on with Windows 7!

Vista never did this to me, even though it always asked me to update my computer.

    Activated thru Phone

Without having to use the Product Key, the phone validated my Windows 7.

    Thank you.

The topic of the thread really wasn't answered.... Why would Windows (MS) revert back to an unactivated product? I'd really like to know what the deal is with this. It seems a bit odd to just blow off.
