Stop users changing time?
Is there any way to stop users changing the time on the pc? I have limited my sons access to the internet using Cybersitter but he is getting around it by changing the system time.

Hello Ktululady, and welcome to Seven Forums.
If you have them on a standard user account instead of a administrator account, then by default they cannot change the system time while logged on a standard account without having to enter the administrator's password. You might consider changing your administrator account's password since it seems they may know what it is.

Better yet, if the little buttheads don't want to follow the rules, just take the hard drive out when the computer isn't in use.
Sure, its probably easier to change a few settings. But sometimes you need to play hard ball to get a message across.

You could also familiarize yourself with how all the cables are attached on the back of the box. That way you can take the whole box away when necessary and be able to quickly plug everything back in when you need the PC.
There are a lot of games that can be played to let the kids know you mean business. I cut the power to the room at the breaker box once when my little one tried to push the limits I had set.

Here's another option, you could re-set the password on their account whenever you want to, using the tutorial at the link below, all you have to do after you create the disk is insert it at their logon screen and re-set the password; don't be concerned about losing/forgetting the password, as a matter of fact you could just create something random and forget it; as long as you have the reset disk you can always get into their acct.
Be advised: if they get access to the disk it'll work for them as it works for you.
It has to be created from within their account and only 1 can be put on a USB stick.
Password Reset Disk : Windows 7 / Vista
PS. Change your password so they don't know it.

Disable date and time
There can be more than one ways of disabling the editing of Date and Time, but we tell you one easy and convenient way of doing it on a computer which is stand alone and is not a part of any active directory.
Fix:
To disable editing, you can set up a user with limited access, not Administrator access. Now with the method we describe below, you can allow only users with Administrator rights to edit the date and time, so the limited user will not be able to change the System date and time.
Follow the steps below:
1. Go to Start > Control Panel > Administrative Templates

2. Open Local Security Policy
3. Go to Local Policy > User Rights Assignments > Change the System time , double click to open it.

4. In the below window, you will see the options to add and remove user groups. Remove the limited users from this list and those limited users will not be able to edit date and time of this computer.
