Windows disk management isn't so nifty for moving the start of partitions. You are pretty much stuck adding the free space to the partiton it's immediately to the right of. Disk management can make partitions larger be extending the end, but it doesn't want to mess with the beginning.

I've heard Partition Wizard freeware is more flexible.

You would have to get some other 3rd party software to move the unallowcated to the right of the D; partition to be able to add it to D; by Extend Volume.

New ssd drive showing unallocated space
Hello. Our little boy has a Fizzbook Spin running Windows 7 Home Premium. The 32GB ssd drive failed and I have replaced it with a 250GB 2.5" Sata drive (that I had planned to use to upgrade my laptop!). Installation of the drive went well, and although the old drive had failed before I had...

How do I add unallocated space to my C: drive?
I'm in Disk Management and I want to add some unallocated space back to my C: drive after uninstalling Arch Linux, but I'm not sure how I do this. Any suggestions? EDIT: I was hoping that 'Extend volume' would do this, but it's grayed out. http://i.imgur.com/fl5vDgs.png

Unallocated space on a different disk than C drive
I have read several forums and postings on this subject but so far I have not had any luck in getting an answer to my issue. I have an HP laptop with a 500 GB HD that came with Vista. I partioned the disk to create a data disk so that we could store pictures on it. So the computer showed a C...

unallocated hard drive space
I have a 5610Z Acer Aspire with Windows 7 (32 bit). I pulled a very boneheaded move getting to upgrade from Vista. I deleted my D:drive (50 G). I back up to a 500 G external hard drive. Is there a way to add the 59G to C:drive where I could use the space. Thanks Brightlight864:o
