Remove User Desktop?

I bought a brand-new laptop today with 64-bit 7. I enabled a true Administrator account named "Justin" and deleted the other account that was originally created when I booted-up. Here's my question: Under Computer, if I click on "Desktop" in the left-hand pane (under 'Favorites'), it lists several icons, some of which are not actually on the desktop, like "Control Panel," "HomeGroup," and "Justin" (listed as a System Folder.) If I click on "Justin" there's another folder that says "Desktop" that has only one file in it. What going's on here exactly? And what can I do to fix-it? I want one desktop area only.

It reminds me of the hidden 'Public Desktop' folder in Vista that programs would occasionally put icons in and doing so would cause them not to be appropriately sorted by name on the actual desktop.

Hey, I deleted the Desktop folder and it came back.

Now I have

C:\Users\Administrator - empty folder

C:\Users\Administrator.Justin-PC\Desktop - two icons

C:\Users\Public\Public Dekstop - 3 icons

What can I do to consolidate and delete the extra desktop folders? Thanks!

ummm right click desktop, personalise, change desktop icons then untick wat you dont want, sorry for typing (on phone)

The end of the page also lists related tutorials on how to customize the Navigation Pane further.

It's important to realize that "Desktop" appearing on top of things in the Navigation Pane is just a link. The actual folder is located in your user tree, e.g. C:\Users\YourUserName\Desktop. If you are not sure what is the file that you see under Justin, just look in its properties to make sure that this is the actual folder and not a link and then what kind of folder that is.

I also agree with Lordbob - using the usually hidden administrator account is not a good idea.

Just for edification's sake, what's wrong with using the hidden administrator account?
