I'm having issues with windows 7 7048 x86. My taskbar keeps flickering, its extremely annoying.
also this is unrelated but my pc won't recognize my printer even though I downloaded the vista x64 drivers.
anyone else with this issue?
Whenever I have some sort of issue, I just run the memory test. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it does nothing. I think it's worth a shot.
As for your unrelated question, try uninstalling the drivers and using Window's wizard. Let it search Windows Update and let it do the work. I did that with my printer (HP LaserJet 1200)
I would recommend downloading the latest drivers for your Video Card (if you haven't already). If not, then you could try applying the Windows 7 Basic theme which disables most (if not all) of the Aero effects. This will disable the transparency effect which could be causing your taskbar to flicker.

Regarding your printer problem. Go to the search box, type in services. Make sure that print spooler is on.
Go to devices and printers, make sure that your printer is showing. If not. disconnect from the computer. Reconnect, turn it back on and go to the website and download another driver. Make sure it is the right one for your printer (model and bits). Follow the instructions carefully.
Think i have solved my taskbar flickering issue......had to go in to my device manager and update my display adapters driver and have not had any flickering since....am keeping my fingers crossed lol
