Windows 7 Start up

When I start up Windows 7 on my laptop, the Shut Down Windows box appears and What do you want the computer to do?; as I am just starting up, I have to press Cancel.

How do I stop this box appearing please?

I suggest looking through the startup tab of msconfig and see if there is anything noteworthy.

How long ago did this start? You may also see if a system restore helps.

Windows 10, Home Clean Install

Welcome to the Forum, sorry that you are having problems.

I think you could approach the problem with a two prongged approach. Try starting in safe mode, if the problem does not occur, use the clean boot procedure to determine the cause.

I Would also add to Richard's comments that if you can startup in Safe mode without this issue occurring, then you might want to scan for Malware, using Malwarebytes which is free and highly effective.

If that turns nothing up, get the Win7 CD out, boot to CD and do a startup repair.
