    Ownership issue?

Okay so I recently got a new computer, this computer has the Hard Disk and Optical Drive from my old one. Anyway while removing junk from my directory, I encountered these massages

"You need permission to perform this action"

"You require permission from TrustedInstaller to make changes to this folder"

    I done the following:
    Folder/Properties/Security/Edit/Added User-PC

Then I allow it to have Full Control

Then Advanced to change my current owner

And the result? It shows the same massage but replaced TrustedInstaller

In Vista and later most system files are owned by the "TrustedInstaller" account. This protects these files from deletion or modification by the user or software they may run or install. This has been a problem in older versions of Windows. If necessary an admin user can take ownership of the files and take whatever action is necessary.

Will a complete disk wipe solve the issue? By the way is it weird that I got a BSOD after messing with the ownership and permissions?
