    User Login Issues

Hi all. Not sure where to put this.

My problem is I cant login my username. I have two user on the computer, my father and myself.

When I click my icon and type the password, it starts to load and hesitates then pops me back to the login screen to either both our icons or just my fathers so im unable to get back to click mine.

This only started happening a few hours ago, system restore didn't work. At this time I am using my fathers account to get online.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

Can you login to your father's o.k.?

Have you tried booting into safe mode and seeing if your user account works?

You could always create a new user and transfer the settings.

seems like a corrupt user ID

see if you have the same issue in safe mode

otherwise you may need to create a new admin ID log in to this and recover your personal settings and files from the user folder tree, and then delete the old one

Hm. It started fine in safe mode.

Just rebooted in normal mode and now its fine again!?

    ... Very strange, thanks.

Sometimes Safe Mode can "heal" a system believe it or not. Good to know that things are working fine!

    Just an update.

It turned out to be a theme I downloaded from DeviantART, 'Aero x v2'. I followed the info ran the patcher. Didn't notice any login issues till I rebooted a few hours later.

But its still a mystery. Im about to use the patcher in the tutorials section on here to see if there is any change.
