Windows 7: Where the removable disk volume label?

Where the removable disk volume label?

Do anyone know where the removable disk volume label saved? on the removable disk or local disk? sometimes my removable disk connntected to other PCs, the volume label can be show also, that means that the volume label saved on the removable disk, is it? which file? thank you.

The volume label is written to the device/drive. I don't think it's stored in a file that you can easily edit though. I believe its stored in the master boot record and i wouldn't go messing around in there.

You can try to add the autorun.inf folder on the movable disk root, the volume label will disappear, why?
