Windows 7: Windows areo?

When I do the system rating on my PC I get a 5.9 on the gaming graphics but for the areo graphics I only get a 4.1 and I want to know why this is, and what areo is as well?



Can someone please explain to me what this windows areo is, and why would it require a more demanding GPU than gaming would.

If you can enlighten me on this topic and issue I would be gratefull.

Not necessarily more powerful GPU, but different.

I do not know why, to be honest. WEI looks at them separately for some reason.

Totally subjective, but I think that Aero, uses a lot of valuable resources with very little in return. You may want to shut it off.

This link provides an overview of Windows Experience Index (WEI). While it mentions Vista, the same applies for Windows 7 however the overall maximum WEI rating has moved to a total of 7 for Windows 7 as opposed to a max of 6 in Vista.
As for game play, some users in this forum have mentioned that we should not read too much by way of WEI ratings.
